Bitflux Getting Set to Rollout

Following the winning of the bid for the 2.3GHz spectrum by Bitflux Communications Limited and making full payment of about a whopping N3.9billionfor both the spectrum and operational licenses, the company is currently putting several requirements in place as part of preparation towards service rollout, including the engagement several top-level consultants and professionals in different areas of its operations.

Bitflux has also sent out Request for Information [RFI] as part of the preparations towards the rollout. The main purpose of the RFI is to provide the basis for selecting the suitable vendors to be targeted for the Request for Proposal [RFP] with the objective of establishing detailed technical requirements for a national 4G wireless broadband deployment aligned to current products and future roadmap. Participating vendors are advised to ensure the required due diligence in providing information on current as well as future roadmap including timelines are adhered to. Participating vendors are to submit the RFI latest 5th April, 2014.

It will be recalled that Bitflux Consortium led by the duo Engineer Biodun Omoniyi, the MD of VDT Communications limited and Tokunbo Talabi, the MD of Superflux International Limited successfully won the auction and paid a whopping sum of N3.7billion being the full payment of the spectrum 2.3GHz license and N155million, being the full payment of the spectrum Wholesale Wireless Access Service License [WWASL] on March 11, 2014. Even though Bitflux still had about 10 more days to pay for the operational License, the consortium decided to make both payment sat once. Thus, confirming Bitflux’s readiness, financial capability and commitment to lead the Nigeria broadband communication.

Several industry stakeholders and watchers congratulated and celebrated with Bitflux on the successful payment. According to them Bitflux’s successful payment holds a brighter hope for Broadband Communication in Nigeria. With this feat, Bitflux is just few steps away from rolling out premium broadband communications, which ensures better quality, penetration, and excellent customer service that Nigerians have been yearning for.

Bitflux Consortium comprises VDT Communications Limited, Bitcom Systems Nigeria Limited and Superflux International Limited, the torchbearers to usher in a brighter future for Nigeria broadband Communication.

In view of this strategic direction which Bitflux is steering, the company has reinforced public confidence in its capability and readiness to roll out high capacity bulk broadband internet service, wholesale wireless access and bandwidth thus enabling retail internet service providers (ISPs) and other users to provide services to their subscribers.
